Bharat Jodo Yatra: Karnataka Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai hit out at the Congress for “relaunching” Rahul Gandhi through its ‘Bharat Jodo Yatra’, saying the Congress vice-president had been in public life for long and did not need any such gimmick. Congress has embarked on a mass contact programme, covering 2,500km over 25 days, to “reconnect” with people ahead of the upcoming polls.
Rahul Gandhi Says ” The primary objective of the yatra was to interact with the people of India and understand their issues and problems.” Rahul Gandhi travelled across different states and met with many people from all walks of life. He listened to their problems and assured them that the Congress party would work towards solving those issues. The yatra was widely successful in its objective and helped Rahul Gandhi connect with a large number of people from across India. It also helped him gain a better understanding of the various issues faced by the people of India.
