Satyendar Jain Row: A Delhi court on Saturday dismissed a plea by jailed AAP minister Satyendar Jain seeking direction to Tihar officials to provide him special food items according to his religious beliefs.
Dismissing the plea, Metropolitan Magistrate Richa Kapoor said there was no material on record to show that Jain’s fundamental rights were violated as he was given fruits which violated jail rules.
Jain, who is lodged in Tihar Jail in a money laundering case, had approached the court last month seeking direction to the prison authorities for providing him with special food items according to his religious beliefs.
He had also sought direction to the authorities to provide him with hygienic and clean utensils for eating as per his religious beliefs. The court had then issued notice to the Tihar Jail authorities and sought their reply on the plea.
