Gujarat Election Dates: The Gujarat Assembly elections will be held in two phases on December 1 and 5, the Election Commission announced Thursday. The results will be declared on December 8 .

There are more than 4.9 million eligible voters in this year’s elections who will be casting their ballots in two parts. 89 seats will be contested in the first phase and 93 in the second, with almost 10,000 polling stations being set up across the country.
The Gujarat Assembly’s term will end on February 18, 2023. Once the election schedule is announced, the Model Code of Conduct comes into effect in Gujarat, and the Central Armed Police Forces are deployed before the polls.
In the state, there are three major players: BJP (Bharatiya Janata Party), Congress, and Aam Aadmi Party. The BJP has been in power for the past two decades.
In last year’s election, the BJP received 99 seats compared to Congress’ 77. The BJP got 49% of the votes while the Congress got 42%. And over the years, while Congress’ tally decreased to 62 and BJP’s increased to 111.
