Gujarat CM Bhupendra Patel to file nominations for State Assembly Elections tomorrow, 16 November. Union Home Minister Amit Shah will reportedly accompany the Chief Minister during the filing.
This comes after the announcement of the dates for the Gujarat Assembly Elections, which are set to take place on 1 to 5 December. With Patel’s filed nomination, he is officially entering the race for a seat in the Gujarat Assembly.
Patel has been serving as the Chief Minister of Gujarat since 13 September 2021.
The Gujarat Assembly Elections will take place on 16 November. This will be a highly contested election, with the ruling party seeking a fourth consecutive term in office. The main issues at stake in this election are development and good governance.
The ruling party has emphasised its track record of delivering on these issues, while the opposition has accused the government of favouring certain sections of society and not doing enough to tackle unemployment and farmer distress. Whichever party emerges victorious from this closely fought contest, they will need to deliver on their promises to the people of Gujarat if they are to retain power in the next election.
