Amit Shah, inaugurated the Maa Sharda Devi Temple at Kupwara, Jammu and Kashmir, through video conferencing on the occasion of New Year. The inauguration was attended by several dignitaries, including the Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir, Shri Manoj Sinha.
During his address, Shri Amit Shah highlighted the significance of the temple’s construction and architecture, which was done according to mythological scriptures under the aegis of Sharda Peeth. He emphasized that the reconstruction of Maa Sharda’s temple in Kupwara was an essential step in the direction of the discovery of Sharda civilization and the promotion of Sharda script.
Shri Amit Shah further elaborated on the historical significance of Sharda Peeth as a center of knowledge in the Indian subcontinent. He stated that the Sharda script is the original script of Kashmir, named after Maa Sharda, and it is one of the Mahashakti Peeths, where the right hand of Maa Sati fell.
The Union Home Minister and Minister of Cooperation also praised the efforts of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, who has taken initiatives in all sectors of Jammu and Kashmir, including cultural rejuvenation. The systematic restoration and repair work of 123 identified places, including many temples and Sufi places, is ongoing at a cost of Rs 65 crore.
Shri Amit Shah also commended the zeal with which the Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir, Shri Manoj Sinha, implemented all the flagship schemes of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi. He said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, Shri Manoj Sinha played a significant role in bringing industrial investment in Jammu and Kashmir.
The inauguration of Maa Sharda’s temple is a significant step towards bringing back the lost glory of this place, and with the blessings of Maa Sharda, it will remain the center of worship and continue to awaken the consciousness of India for ages.
The reconstruction of the Maa Sharda Devi Temple in Kupwara is expected to attract devotees from all over India and promote cultural tourism in Jammu and Kashmir. The event highlights the government’s efforts to restore and preserve the cultural heritage of the region, which is essential for promoting peace, prosperity, and unity in the country.
