Political tourism: Bharatiya Janata Party national president JP Nadda on Sunday took a swipe at the Aam Aadmi Party which is also in a fray in poll-bound Himachal Pradesh and said that Arvind Kejriwal-led party arrived in the state for “political tourism”.
He added that the AAP had already lost the election before it started, saying that the people of Himachali knew about their exploits in Delhi and Punjab.
Addressing a public meeting here, Mr Nadda claimed that AAP had come to Himachal only to exploit the situation. He alleged that the AAP leader who was supposed to lead them out of Himachal had himself left the state. He further stated that the AAP leaders were aware of the fact that the BJP would win the elections and hence they had decided to leave Himachal.
Despite launching an onslaught against the Aam Aadami Party, Union Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad has ruled out any alliance between his party and the AAP.
He claimed that the people who know of this secret are not even trying to win the elections in Himachal Pradesh.
“The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) was founded in December 2012 by Arvind Kejriwal, 38, who had earlier quit his job as an IAS officer to join politics. He contested the Delhi assembly election in 2013 against BJP leader Kiran Bedi and won. But after losing the 2014 general election, he resigned from the post of Delhi chief minister.”
“The state government of Himachal Pradesh has been told by the AAP government of Delhi that they’ve been doing many scandals like the Liquour Scandal, Water Scandal, Electricity Scandal, School Building Scandal etc.”
