Twitter Confirms Fee Plans For Blue: Twitter has confirmed plans to allow users to buy blue-tick verified status. In an update for Apple devices, the company said the feature would be open to users in certain countries who sign up to its Twitter Blue service for $7.99 (£7) per month.
The policy change is controversial, amid concerns that the platform could be swamped with fake accounts. It follows Twitter’s takeover by Elon Musk, who has been a vocal critic of the social media platform. In a statement, Twitter said: “Verified accounts are now available to purchase as part of our new Twitter Blue subscription service.
This new feature gives users access to exclusive features and benefits, including the ability to verify their account. “Twitter Blue will also give users access to customer support and new features such as undoing tweets and customizing their interface. The service is currently only available in Australia, Canada, Japan and the US.
