Liton Das Captain For ODIs Against India: Bangladesh on Friday named batsman Liton Das as captain for the one-day international series against India starting this weekend, replacing injured Tamim Iqbal. Das, 25, has played 12 ODIs and two Tests since making his debut in 2016. He will be leading Bangladesh for the first time.
“Liton Das has been appointed as the captain of the Bangladesh ODI side for the upcoming three-match series against India,” Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) president Nazmul Hassan said in a statement.
“This is a great opportunity for him to lead the side and we are all behind him,” Hassan added. The first ODI will be played in Dhaka on Sunday, with the second and third matches taking place in Mirpur on Wednesday and Friday respectively.
