Delhi Traffic: Delhiites woke up to a pleasant weather on Sunday morning but the respite was short-lived as rain started lashing the city by noon. The downpour led to waterlogging in several low-lying areas and traffic snarls were witnessed at many places. The rainfall also brought the temperature down by a few notches, providing relief from the humid conditions that had prevailed over the past few days.
Waterlogging In Several Areas The incessant rain that has been lashing Delhi since Sunday morning led to water-logging in several areas of the city, resulting in traffic snarls. The downpour also caused water-logging on roads and led to long traffic jams, eyewitnesses said. The heavy rain also disrupted train services on the Delhi Metro’s Blue Line causing inconvenience to commuters.
Delhi witnessed heavy traffic jams on Sunday morning after non-stop rain lashed the national capital overnight. The downpour continued till early morning and led to waterlogging in several areas, including ITO, Vikas Marg, Laxmi Nagar and Preet Vihar. Many commuters were seen stranded on the roads as their vehicles got stuck in the waterlogged areas. The Delhi Traffic Police had to deployed additional personnel to clear the congestion and help people reach their destinations safely.
