Cyrus Mistry Death: The Mercedes-Benz that Cyrus Mistry was driving when he died had its brakes applied five seconds before the crash, an interim report has found. Mistry, 62, died on November 9 after his car crashed into a tree in Mumbai’s Worli area. The police had said that they were investigating whether Mistry suffered a heart attack while driving.
However, the interim report by Mercedes Benz India has found that the car’s brakes were applied five seconds before the impact. “Based on information available till now and initial analysis conducted by us, it is observed that approximately 5 seconds prior to impact, continuous brake application was recorded by the vehicle,” Mercedes Benz India said in a statement.
The interim report into the death of Cyrus Mistry has revealed that the car he was driving applied its brakes 5 seconds before it hit a tree. The Mercedes S-Class car was travelling at around 70mph when it crashed near his home in Woking, Surrey, on November 10.
Mr Mistry, who was 49, died at the scene. His wife and two children were in the car but survived. The report said that there were no mechanical faults with the car and that weather conditions were good at the time of the accident. It is not known why Mr Mistry failed to stop the car before it hit the tree.
