7th Pay Commission DA Increase: In a major boost for Central government employees, the Narendra Modi government has hiked Dearness Allowance (DA) to 212% of the basic pay with effect from 1st January 2019. The increase in DA comes after the 7th Pay Commission’s recommendations were accepted by the government.
The move will benefit nearly 50 lakh central government employees and 65 lakh pensioners. With this hike, DA will now be Rs 18,452 per month for an employee at the entry level. This is a big relief for government employees who have been waiting for a hike in their DA for a long time.
The government has also decided to release an additional instalment of dearness allowance to central government employees and pensioners with effect from 1st July 2019. This will benefit nearly 1 crore central government employees and pensioners.
So, if you are a Central government employee or pensioner, your take-home salary is set to increase from next month!
